Camping March 2011

Last week we went on our first ever camping trip and stayed in a tent. For those of you who know me, I am not a tent kind-of-girl. I like my conveniences (running water, heat, makeup, you know the important things in life). We went to Withrow Springs outside of Huntsville, AR, and set up camp. Hudson was asleep for the first 1 1/2 hours after we got there. He woke up and wasn't sure what was going on. It took him about 30 minutes to warm up to the camping idea. We built a fire, roasted hotdogs and made s'mores. My favorite part was the cooking. Josh did a great job at keeping the fire going. That evening Hudson didn't go to sleep till about 10:30 but he slept great. I, on-the-hand, slept horrible. It doesn't help being pregnant and having to get up twice during the night to potty. I was also freezing. I think I would like it much better when it is warmer. That next morning Hudson woke up and he realized that it was pretty cold. We stepped out of the tent and Hudson pointed to the car and said, "CAR!!" My poor little guy was freezing and needed to get warmed up. So, we jumped in the car and drove to McDonald's. We went through the drive-thru...I got a decaf coffee and Josh got orange juice. It was only about 2 miles from the campsite...Thank goodness. After getting back to the campsite, I made eggs, sausage, and toast. I'm glad Hudson got to experience camping in the great outdoors :-)

Baby Bedding

I am so excited. I ordered baby Landreth's bedding a few days ago from Pottery Barn and it has already been delivered. I took these images off of their website so you could see the bedding. Hudson's room was done in elephants and this time we picked whales. Josh and I both thought this was perfect for our new little guy. We had always planned on our 2nd child using the same bedding that Hudson used, but we felt he needed his own. We have plenty of things to get done before he arrives but I am so anxious/excited to see him. I plan on us painting (I really mean Josh painting) and getting the room ready during the summer (way before he comes though :-) The colors and patterns are so cute on the bedding. I already have a few decorating ideas for his room. I want to find a little side table to paint and decorate for his room. There are a few more things to buy to get his room ready. Baby Landreth I hope you love your room when it is complete!! Love you

Summer Anyone??

My Mom & I went on a shopping trip to Branson a few weekends ago and I picked up some sunglasses for Hudson. I put them on him the other morning and both of us got to laughing so hard :-) He really likes them and kept wanting to put them on. At one point, he pulled them down over his nose, looked at me and said, "Hi Momma". Then, we got tickled again. We are so ready for Summer. I love these two pics, because he has his sunglasses on while wearing some winter pj's.

Boy/Girl--Best of Both

I am so excited that tomorrow (3/9/11) we get to find out if we are having another boy or a girl. I can honestly say that either would bring joy to me. For me, having a little boy has been so exciting and rewarding. The saying is definitely true that most boys are "Momma's boys" and girls are "Daddy's girls". Hudson has been my little sidekick for 2 years now and he has done a terrific job.
If God blesses us with another boy, then I can look forward to him & Hudson being the best buddies. I can see myself being in a house full of boys and loving it. Boys are full of energy and that can take a toll on this Momma at times :-) I see track meets, maybe baseball, or golf (that is what Daddy is hoping for) in our near future. We will welcome a little boy into our home and love him with everything we have in us.
If God blesses us with a girl then we have some things to get used to. First, we will have to make room for bows, dresses, ruffles, and lots of baby dolls. If Hudson is a big brother to a little sister, then I feel he will be very protective of her ...... FOREVER!! I LOVE dressing a little boy because it is so easy (t-shirt & pants), but I wouldn't mind dressing a little girl up either. I do catch myself looking at dresses, bows, and little outfits for girls. I'm not use to it so I am drawn to it, of course. If we have a little girl then we will have our favorite little guy and our favorite little girl. We will love her and Hudson will our whole hearts.
We LOVE you future baby!!

Late Post #2--Hudson's 2nd Birthday

Hudson turned 2 near the end of January. I cannot believe that my little guy is now 2 years old. It is ironic how it seems to have gone by so fast, but on the other hand to have been the longest 2 years of my life :-) We have had so much fun with him. Hudson is learning new things all the time, and it is a joy to experience all that stuff with him. Thanks to all our friends and family who came to celebrate this BIG day with us.
Hudson's party was a barnyard theme. He loves animals especially cows (or he says tows :-). I couldn't think of a better theme for out little farmer. I want to give a big thanks to my sister who helped with so many of the decorations. She got a silhouette cutter for her bday and it does amazing crafts. She made the banner, cupcake toppers (which we spent hours assembling), and other little things for the party. She is amazing, and I'm lucky to have her as a sister and for her to be Hudson's Aunt.
Back to the party!! Hudson wasn't really interested in his presents which is so unlike me. I would have ripped them open, but he had more fun with his old toys. Josh and I love Hudson so much and can't wait to see what the 2's bring us. I guess he'll have a new baby brother or sister by the time he turns 3 :-)

Late Post #1-Valentine's Weekend Getaway

I might be biased but I think I have the best husband in the world. Sometimes for a Mommy, life can be stressful, and stay-at-home Moms definitely need time out of the house. Josh told me he wanted to take me somewhere for Valentine's weekend. I was thrilled and couldn't wait to see where he was going to take me. I knew that it was somewhere within driving distance. I was just excited to get out of the house and have some time with with Josh. We dropped Hudson off at my parent's house, so he was on his own little vacation. He loves being on the farm with my parents but he LOVES there little dog Annie. I think they are going to be best buds for years to come. So, a special thanks to my Mom & Dad for watching Hudson. Now we were ready to get going. As we were driving we started towards Eureka Springs. I had a feeling I knew where we were going but didn't want to say anything. We had looked at this place before but never stayed there (Beaver Lake Cottages..www.beaverlakecottages.com). Josh drove right past the road for there and I was udderly confused. Then he pulls in to this little motel that did overlook Beaver Lake, but it looked like it could be in a horror movie. Josh said, "This is not what I anticipated". My mouth dropped and I knew he had to be joking. Lucky for him he was :-) We kept driving for a while and then he turned around and took me to Beaver Lake Cottages. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting a quiet weekend away. It was so peaceful and just what we needed. We stayed at cottage #6 which was the one closest to the lake. Thank you Josh for a great weekend. I Love You!!
